You pull up in Spring Branch and the dome is already catching the last light. You plug in at the Tesla charger, walk in, drop the bags, and the quiet is the first thing you notice. The Hill Country drops away toward the Guadalupe River Valley.
This is one of two geodesic domes at The Casitas at Sun Valley, next to six private casitas. Slate Serenity holds the evening. Riverstone Retreat takes the morning. Both have a king bed, a private deck, and a view you can leave open or close with the curtains.
The spa shower is the reset after the drive. Rainfall, the kind that washes the road off you.
At night the TV lifts from the foot of the bed if you want it, or it stays tucked away so the glass is the whole wall. The skylight opens. You can see the stars without leaving the bed.
In the morning you take coffee onto the deck while the sun comes up over the valley. The horizon goes from dark to that first Hill Country gold, and you can sit there as long as you want. Deer sometimes move through before anyone else is awake. Eggs come out of the mini fridge and onto the two-burner cooktop. Breakfast is on the deck, or at the kitchenette with the valley in the window.
The day can be Canyon Lake or the Guadalupe River, about 15 minutes away, or another hour on the deck.
If family or friends come too, the casitas are right there. Units 1 and 2 have decks, like the domes. Units 3 through 6 open onto private patios, so everyone still has their own outdoor spot. Book the dome direct, compare the two, and see which light you want.
